Margherita di Savoia is a small city overlooking the Gulf of Manfredonia and just few minutes from Barletta, famous above all for the largest salt pans in Europe and for a wonderful beach made of fine golden sand bathed by a crystalline sea. Its beautiful coastline is dotted with many of the most modern and well-equipped bathing establishments in Italy. Within the Saline area there is a very important Wetland populated by an infinite number of birds including avocets, herons, knights of Italy but above all pink flamingos that transform the environment into a triumph of colours and beauty. A few kilometres from Margherita di Savoia you can visit the most beautiful cathedrals and castles of Puglia including the Cathedral of Trani and Castel del Monte and also places rich in history and culture such as Canne della Battaglia or the Cantina della Disfida di Barletta. You’ll discover the religious shrines that surround the area such as those of San Giovanni Rotondo and Monte Sant’Angelo, a pilgrimage destination for millions of religious faithful. A few kilometres to the south are the Trulli of Alberobello and the Caves of Castellana, a world heritage site.
